Peavey Electronics is honored to present an exclusive screening of clips from Country Music, a film by Ken Burns. Organized by the films producers, the event is set to take place March 29 at Peaveys corporate headquarters in Meridian, MS.
The screening will be followed by a punch and brunch reception and a question-and-answer session with the films production team, including producer and writer Dayton Duncan, producer Julie Dunfey and producer Pam Tubridy Baucom. They will be joined by Ronnie Agnew, executive director of Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB).
Also in attendance will be Hartley Peavey, founder and CEO of Peavey Electronics, Mary Peavey, President of Peavey Electronics, and Betty Lou Jones, former president of the Jimmie Rodgers Foundation.
Premiering on PBS in September, Country Music is a highly anticipated documentary that follows the evolution of country music over the course of the 20th century as it eventually emerges to become Americas music. Many Mississippi artists will be featured in the eight-part, 16-hour series, including Jimmie Rodgers, Elvis Presley, Marty Stuart, Charley Pride, Tammy Wynette, Bobbie Gentry and others.
Peavey Headquarters is located at 5022 Hartley Peavey Drive, Meridian, MS. The screening will begin at 10:30 a.m., with doors opening at 10:00 a.m.
